Explore the Scenic Walking Tracks of Meroo National Park

Meroo National Park, located near Ulladulla and Batemans Bay on the New South Wales South Coast, is a prime destination for outdoor enthusiasts. Approximately 230 km south of Sydney, this coastal area offers a diverse range of activities. Whether you’re interested in a casual walk, a challenging hike, or a relaxing day out with the family, Meroo National Park caters to all preferences.

The park features coastal lakes ideal for kayaking, paddling, and fishing, along with numerous short walking tracks. For those interested in cycling, there are several unsealed roads and trails perfect for mountain biking. Birdwatchers will appreciate the rich variety of species, while Meroo Head lookout and Nuggan Point provide excellent vantage points for spotting dolphins and whales.

For a more immersive experience, consider staying overnight at one of the peaceful campgrounds. Meroo Head campground, located near the beach, offers opportunities for swimming, snorkelling, surfing, and fishing. The nearby forested trails are perfect for mountain biking, and the scenic views from Meroo Head lookout are not to be missed.

During your stay, you can explore Meroo Lake or enjoy a beach walk along the pristine sandy shores. In spring, the wildflowers, including rare orchids and pink flowering blueberry ash, create a stunning contrast against the towering eucalypts. At night, relax around a campfire, with the sound of waves crashing nearby, and wake up to a vibrant sunrise over the ocean.
